Romans 16

Listened to an excellent sermon at the church meeting today in regards to the closing chapter of Romans. Paul lists so many brethren that remained faithful to Christ that are basically nameless to the world and easily forgotten, but in God's eyes are chosen and precious (1 Peter). The message was very stirring to my soul as I pondered the spiritual meaning to be a fool for Christ and what that costs in this self-glorifying world I find myself in. The second stanza of the hymn I'd rather have Jesus comes to mind:

I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause;
I rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame.
I'd rather be true to His holy name.
