Manning Bible Reading Plan

For a few years now I have attempted to follow different reading plans. Previously I purchased and worked through the MacArthur Daily Bible. Most recently I have been working through the Robert Murray M'Cheyne plan. I often found it difficult to keep up and disappointed I had to stop at the end of the chapter because the reading plan for the day only called for chapter 8. For the new year I have developed my own plan that Lord willing will become a life principal that I will follow. I tried to break up the portions of scriptures from the Old and New Testament into four parts that I could continually feed on during the allotted time. The idea is to read over and over the same materials until I can visualize the words and where they belong. I want to become a man about the Book going forward as I press on towards the mark of the upward call of Jesus Christ. Here is the plan I came up with:

Winter:
  • OT Pentateuch
  • NT Gospels
Spring:
  • OT Historical Books
  • NT Acts - II Corinthians
Summer:
  • OT Wisdom
  • NT Galatians - Philemon
Fall:
  • OT Prophets
  • NT Hebrews - Revelation
